Gold prices in Pakistan eased on Saturday, October 3, with 24-karat gold settling at Rs436,336 per tola in the local bullion market, down Rs4,300 from the previous session. Since Sunday is a non-trading day for the Karachi and Rawalpindi-Islamabad Sarafa markets, that closing rate is carrying over as today’s (October 4) prevailing price, according to figures reported by The Express Tribune and Business Recorder.
The local pullback tracked a decline in the international market, where gold fell $43 to $4,138 per ounce. Bullion came under pressure as traders reassessed the odds of a Federal Reserve rate cut at its upcoming October meeting and the US dollar firmed against major currencies, making dollar-priced gold costlier for buyers elsewhere and triggering some profit-taking after the metal’s recent push past $4,100. The move reversed a roughly Rs2,000-per-tola gain logged just a day earlier, extending the choppy, two-steps-forward-one-back pattern gold has shown locally over the past few weeks — a pattern visible in Friday’s rate update as well. Silver followed gold lower, slipping Rs56 to Rs6,522 per tola.

Rates for 22K, 21K and 18K gold are derived from the 24K benchmark using standard purity ratios and can vary slightly between individual jewellers. Buyers are advised to confirm same-day rates with their local Sarafa dealer before making a purchase, as gold remains volatile amid shifting Fed rate-cut expectations.
