Gold prices in Karachi edged higher on Tuesday, with 24-karat gold trading at Rs438,000 per tola in the local Sarafa market, up roughly Rs1,000 (about 0.23%) from Monday’s close of Rs437,000. The figure is corroborated across multiple live rate trackers, including Hamariweb, Abbasi and Company, and PakBiz, all showing the same Rs438,000 level for Tuesday.

The uptick comes despite a fairly quiet international backdrop. Spot gold on the global market was trading around $4,130 per troy ounce early Tuesday, per Kitco, actually down slightly from Monday’s close near $4,155 — a pullback of roughly 0.6%. The US dollar held essentially flat against the rupee too, with the interbank USD/PKR rate unchanged at Rs277.45. Since neither the international ounce price nor the currency moved in a direction that explains today’s rise, the small gain in the local rate looks more like routine Sarafa market adjustment and steady jewellery-sector demand catching up with Monday’s late pricing, rather than a reaction to any single clear driver. It’s a useful reminder that Pakistan’s local gold rate doesn’t always track the international ounce price tick-for-tick within the same trading window.

Silver also firmed up in Karachi, trading at Rs6,800 per tola on Tuesday per Hamariweb, broadly in line with readings from Urdupoint and SilverRate.pk.

Metal / Karat Price (Per Tola) Price (Per 10 Grams)
24K Gold Rs438,000 Rs375,520
22K Gold Rs401,610 Rs344,320
21K Gold Rs383,250 Rs328,580
18K Gold Rs328,500 Rs281,640
Silver Rs6,800 Rs5,830
International Gold (per oz, USD) $4,130 —

The 22K, 21K, and 18K figures above are derived from the 24K rate using the standard purity ratios (22/24, 21/24, and 18/24), the method used whenever a tracker doesn’t report every karat directly.

For readers tracking the daily trend, Monday’s gold price update had 24K at Rs437,000 per tola, so today’s move is a modest single-day uptick rather than a sharp swing. As always, rates can vary slightly between city markets and individual jewellers, so anyone planning to buy or sell should confirm the exact price with their local Sarafa dealer before a transaction.
