Gold prices in Pakistan held steady on Thursday, with 24-karat gold trading at roughly Rs451,500 per tola in the Karachi Sarafa market, according to live rate trackers UrduPoint and Goldupdate.pk. The rate is little changed from Wednesday’s level of around Rs450,000/tola, a marginal uptick of about Rs1,500 (roughly 0.3%) rather than any sharp move in either direction.

The near-flat domestic reading mirrors what happened internationally overnight. Spot gold was hovering around $4,349 per ounce on Thursday, according to TradingEconomics, up only marginally on the day after climbing nearly 2% in the previous session. Bullion has cooled off from its recent highs over the past month — down close to 3.7% on a monthly basis even as it remains up more than 18% for the year — largely because markets had already priced in the US Federal Reserve’s decision to raise interest rates for the first time in three years, a hawkish move that typically dulls demand for non-yielding assets like gold. A softer patch for oil prices and lower bond yields, however, gave bullion a small lift on the day, which is the main reason Karachi’s rate ticked up rather than down.

Silver followed a similar flat-to-firm pattern, changing hands at close to Rs6,850 per tola in the local market. As always, buyers should treat these as indicative Sarafa-market rates — actual retail prices from individual jewellers can vary slightly depending on making charges and local demand.

Metal / Purity Price per Tola (Rs) Price per 10 Grams (Rs)
Gold 24K 451,500 387,100
Gold 22K 413,900 354,800
Gold 21K 395,100 338,700
Gold 18K 338,600 290,300
Silver 6,850 5,870
International Gold (per ounce, USD) $4,349

Looking ahead, analysts tracking the bullion market say gold’s near-term direction will keep hinging on the US dollar and bond yields following the Fed’s rate move, alongside any fresh developments on the geopolitical front that tend to drive safe-haven buying. For now, though, both the international and Karachi markets are describing today’s tone as “largely unchanged,” trading in a narrow band rather than showing a dramatic swing in either direction.
