Gold prices in Pakistan held steady on Sunday, with 24-karat gold unchanged at Rs429,136 per tola for a second straight session, as the international market stayed flat and traders looked ahead to the week’s dollar-rupee moves for the next signal, according to Daily Pakistan and Business Recorder.
The All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association’s (APGJSA) board rate has been parked at Rs429,136 per tola since Friday, when it fell by a sharp Rs6,500 from Thursday’s multi-week high of Rs435,636 — a level PakDaily also tracked in Saturday’s rate update. That Thursday rally had followed the Democratic Party’s gains in the US midterm elections, which weakened the US dollar and briefly pushed international gold above $4,120 an ounce, its highest level since late October. The rebound didn’t last: a stronger-than-expected US October jobs report, with non-farm payrolls near 165,000 against forecasts of about 65,000 and unemployment at 4.1%, firmed up the dollar and trimmed bets on further Federal Reserve rate cuts, dragging international gold back down into the $4,050-$4,070 range, where it has largely stayed since. Both Daily Pakistan and Business Recorder reported the international rate steady at $4,066 per ounce on Sunday, with Daily Pakistan describing the domestic calm as “a brief pause in an otherwise unpredictable market” after weeks of sharp swings.
Independent live rate-trackers painted a slightly different picture on the ground. PakGold.net’s own Rawalpindi-Islamabad sarafa benchmark put 24-karat gold at Rs425,100 per tola on Sunday morning — about Rs4,000 below the APGJSA’s board rate, continuing a gap between the two that has appeared on and off over the past week. Silver, meanwhile, slipped a modest Rs10 to Rs5,668 per tola on the APGJSA figure cited by both outlets, even as PakGold.net’s own tracker showed a firmer local silver rate near Rs5,780 per tola — a divergence that has also shown up on recent sessions.

The 22K, 21K, and 18K figures above are derived from the 24K rate using standard purity ratios, as APGJSA did not report them directly. With no fresh domestic trigger on the calendar, Daily Pakistan said market attention is now likely to shift toward international price movements and the rupee-dollar exchange rate for the next move in local rates.
