Gold eased slightly in Pakistan’s bullion market on Wednesday, with 24-karat gold trading at around Rs409,500 per tola, according to live Karachi sarafa-linked rate trackers including Pakgold.net and Skardu.pk’s gold rate feed, both of which were updated early Wednesday morning and agreed closely with each other — a dip of roughly Rs1,700 from Tuesday’s rate update, when 24K gold had settled at Rs411,200 per tola.

The pullback tracked a mild retreat in the international bullion market, where gold slipped to roughly $3,930 per troy ounce on Wednesday from about $3,932 a day earlier, according to Trading Economics. The move follows a broader cooling in gold’s rally over the past couple of weeks, as several Federal Reserve officials have signalled that last month’s rate cut could be the central bank’s last for the year, trimming market bets on a further cut in December and, with it, some of gold’s appeal as a safe-haven asset. With Pakistan’s interbank dollar rate holding broadly steady through the session, the dip in the local market largely mirrored the international move rather than reflecting any rupee-specific factor. Silver, meanwhile, held firm and ticked up slightly to around Rs5,405 per tola in Karachi’s sarafa market.

Metal / Karat Per Tola (Rs) Per 10 Grams (Rs)
24K Gold 409,516 351,100
22K Gold 375,390 321,842
21K Gold 358,326 307,212
18K Gold 307,137 263,325
Silver 5,405 4,634
International Gold (per troy ounce, USD) $3,930

The 22K, 21K and 18K figures above are derived from the 24K rate using the standard purity ratios (22/24, 21/24 and 18/24), since most Karachi sarafa trackers quote 24K directly and calculate the rest. Rates can still shift during the trading day in response to swings in the international spot price and the rupee’s exchange rate against the dollar, so buyers are advised to confirm the live rate with their local jeweller or sarafa association before making a purchase.
