In a move aimed at improving welfare for its staff, the Punjab Police has approved a Rs3.45 million healthcare assistance package to help current and retired officers and their families manage serious medical treatments.
According to an official statement from the department, the Inspector General of Punjab Police approved the financial support based on recommendations from the Medical Financial Assistance Committee.
Among the largest allocations, Retired Constable Muhammad Iqbal and Traffic Warden Farhan Parvez were each awarded Rs1 million—Iqbal for a liver transplant and Parvez for kidney-related treatment.
Other officers receiving assistance include:
- Constable Ziaullah – Rs500,000 for surgical treatment
- Head Constable Irfan Shahid – Rs250,000 for cancer care
- Sub-Inspector Aurangzeb – Rs200,000 for cardiac treatment
- Assistant Sub-Inspectors Ehsan, Qamaruddin, and Dildar Subhani – Rs100,000 each
- Retired Constables Asghar Ali and Farhat Abbas – Rs200,000 each for ongoing medical needs
This financial support reflects the department’s commitment to prioritizing the health and well-being of its officers and their families, especially those facing critical health challenges.
