A major UK–Pakistan healthcare partnership is set to bring a state-of-the-art, 250-bed hospital to Islamabad by 2026. The facility is being developed by Novacare in collaboration with Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, one of the UK’s leading medical institutions.

The partnership includes expert input on hospital planning, medical workforce development, and clinical training. Notably, fees from the affiliation will be reinvested into strengthening NHS services in the UK, ensuring the collaboration benefits both nations.

The upcoming Novacare hospital, located in DHA Phase V, will offer advanced treatment across 28 medical specialties, including cardiology, neurology, orthopaedics, oncology, and maternal health. The hospital will also integrate modern medical technologies, such as AI-enabled elevators, smart building management systems, and solutions designed to prevent infections and patient injuries.

UK Officials Applaud the Initiative

British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott CMG OBE praised the collaboration, noting its dual impact:

“This partnership brings the NHS’s clinical excellence to Pakistan while reinvesting in UK healthcare. It’s a shared commitment to improving patient outcomes and saving lives.”

The project is part of the UK’s broader effort to extend NHS expertise globally while supporting the professional growth of healthcare workers abroad. Through this partnership, Novacare’s team will benefit from access to multidisciplinary consultations, remote second opinions from NHS doctors, and training based on UK medical protocols. In certain high-risk or complex cases, patients may also be referred to Imperial’s private hospitals in London, further generating income for the NHS.

Hospital Tour by UK Delegation

During a recent visit to the construction site, British High Commissioner Jane Marriott was joined by UK Trade Envoy to Pakistan, Mohammad Yasin MP, as part of his three-day visit. The delegation met with leadership from Novacare and its parent company Andalus Holdings, including:

  • Johannes Kedzierski – CEO, Novacare

  • Ghalib Hafiz – Director, Novacare & Partner, Andalus Holdings

Located just 15 minutes from Islamabad’s Blue Zone, the hospital is expected to serve as a model for future international healthcare collaborations, offering local patients easier access to world-class care.
